On my Canon EOS 5D Mark II I get to the Rode VideoMic a balanced sound, punchy and with Richtcharakterisitk. Overall, therefore, a much-recommended improvement.
The VideoMic has become for me the standard equipment when it comes to good sound in film. Without I can not imagine. It has been designed for well suited for DSLRs, small video cameras it seems rather oversized.

+ Very low noise (so I can not understand other reviews here)
+ Stable mount because nothing wobbles
+ Deadcat fits perfectly and is very useful outdoors
+ No rubber rings to the wearing parts more (as in the previous model)

-Gewichtsbedingt Slightly tilted forward (with Rycote mount)

Interested you come not to good sound.
