Tested HDMI output: the plug must be powered with a standard micro-USB socket (thus making the old micro-usb 2.0, not taking 3.0 comes with the charger Note 3, hence my rating 4/5 instead of 5/5). The image rotates with the phone. The sound is okay. it allows you to spend a youtube video with no problem.
For the USB output, the plug must not be fed. You press the button and the USB key is recognized, one can explore with Total Commander or another file browser software (I had to do the first time a phone reboot for it to work correctly, otherwise the volume USB rising but was immediately removed by the phone).
