I have considered it to me after all the reviews here three times if I should trade my NEC DLP projector with 2300 ANSI lumens and XGA resolution against the LG PA70G .... energy efficiency and lamp life have ultimately inspired me to a test purchase. I have not looked back! In my darkened basement I feel the brightness on my 2 * 1.25m canvas as perfectly adequate and subjectively the light output of my old NEC projector is not inferior. This I operating in Eco mode and the LG now primarily in the central power-saving mode. The color balance for LG in the factory picture modes very strong and should be adjusted accordingly to your preferences. Also, the black level is in dark scenes certainly not the best ... but compared to the old projector, no worse. The sharpness like it, contrary to the frequently mentioned criticisms, quite well and is superior to the WXGA resolution to the NEC. HD movies look really good. In texts I can on the right side a drop in sharpness make out what I know but also by my predecessor devices. The fan noise, which was also frequently criticized, hums in full power operation clearly audible. In a darkened room and a no exaggeration large screen diagonal, should the average power saving mode, such as fully sufficient in my case. Then the fan is barely noticeable. The processing, accessories, as well as the settings and the menu I like also. With the PS3 as a player via HDMI, the LG understands and guaranteed me hopefully a lot of long games and film evenings. I can recommend this projector for home use. Since I already owned several devices from the lower price segment with conventional technology, from Acer to NEC, the LG is these devices, according to the application in the hobby room to console and PC, in nothing. The price is moderate and the follow-up costs significantly lower. But the power consumption is reduced, as compared with a conventional projector, already by at least half. Mobile users are the device safely may not abgewinnen as much as in direct light a presentation is difficult. My conclusion: For me ideal. Movies and games in good quality and this cheap and durable.
EDIT 03/03/2014: I have the Beamer now hung from the ceiling. The lateral blur came so unfortunately more to bear. I decided summarily return the instrument, since that bothered me the dirty focus (although he noticed only texts), and has guaranteed my PA70G also still. I have just the projector get back (about 2 weeks after sending). The image is now perfectly adjusted. I can absolutely no longer perceive blur, texts see now clean on the entire screen, and the focus can be better ascertained now. The settlement of the LG-Reperautur service went smoothly. Friendly telephone contact included. Since repair manuals for electronic hobbyist spirits through the net and the LG customer service was also some poorly made, I want my very positive experience with this adherence to this point. I am very happy that I got involved in the attempt to be solved the focus problem directly from LG.
