I use this only for duplicating slides. This is much more effective than with a scanner 100 slides per hour, against 12 for my scanner (4800 dpi). I use a 35-55 mm zoom with a Canon APS-C case. RAW format. ISO set at 100. Opening set at f8. Central Metering. Manual focus with lock (ideal), AF multizone fine too. My light box: blue skies and clear by a large sun, I do not find anything better! Regardless of how it is done, it will crop the shooting. So I do not try too hard to zoom. The idea is to use 2/3 the center of the lens, thereby avoiding distortions and chromatic aberrations. I dust off the slides to progressively: 2 on 2, once they are in the slide door. We must keep in mind that there is some work to do on the RAW file to get a good result.
My expectations in buying this duplicator: - Be able to photograph my 5-6000 slides without spending years ... - Be able to make prints 18x24 paper good qualities, - To finally watch my old slides (there is a long time since I no longer projector !!!).
I am totally satisfied: very good price / quality, good product, good finish. I recommend.
