Unfortunately, the drivers for OS X 10.9 Mavericks are faulty. This means that the processes are constantly "OUC" and "RunOuc" be started, even if the drive is not plugged in. These processes then run in the background with a CPU usage 98 to 99%, which means that the MacBook overheats after a time either, or the battery lasts only 30 minutes. Very annoying is that HUAWEI here does not provide a driver update. In my support request I received only the very short answer, that I should give the stick back. Apparently plans you do not update that should fix the bug for OS X.
I tested the on an iMac 27 "(2013) and a MacBook Pro 15" Retina (2013) both with OS X 10.9 Mavericks. The error occurs in both places. Also different (and older) drivers' versions brought no improvement. If you search the internet for "Mac OS X OUC" or "Mac OS X RunOuc", it is found that the problem has been known since the end of 2013 and I do not have this problem alone.
For Mac users I recommend the Huawei E5776 LTE Mobile WiFi Hotspot ([...]), which I currently use very successfully. The speed is also very fast and there are no compatibility issues, because you have to install any drivers.
