The Giver: English reading for the 5th year of learning (Paperback)

Customer Review

Think of your own 'normal' World- then subtract color, music, feelings and the memory of the past. What comes out is Jonas's world, the main character of Lois Lowry's novel "The Giver". He lives in a place, called the community, where everything is structured and strictly controlled. Live goes on and on and nobody really reflects upon the rules. But then, Jonas Gets His lifetime assignement (at the age of 12!), Which is called "Receiver of Memory". He Gets Transmitted lots of memories of the past and Recognizes, thatthere are lots of things missing in the community. If you want to know how the story Continues, read the book!
I did not like the novel did much, to my mind it is too unrealistic. But I read it in school and there were interesting parts / topics we Transmitted to our life / world to compare it with life in the community.
