A very nice gift for Mother's Day. The lanterns are real glass and are quite opaque for one can not distinguish that it is only the "toc" inside. Rather, it emanates a soft, pleasant glow. The brightness is low, there is nothing to enlighten a lot with it, even when it is held in the hand. This is really a decorative object. For cons, I do not think you can confuse this with the glow of a real candle for several reasons: - The color of the candle Phillips takes a lot to red / orange. Too much, because a real candle custody white hues. I'll be there could not be clearer: the color of a candle Phillips is NOT the color of a real candle. But that's not worse. This light it is much more relaxing and gives a warm look to the room. - The change in brightness of the Phillips candle is too quiet I think. A real candle tends to adopt sudden changes depending on the environment. This is not the case of Phillips. The brightness variation is not regular, but it is slow and steady. Again, this is not really a fault.
What to remember: a beautiful object of decoration. Keep in mind that it does not replace a real candle but is instead an alternative: a candle warmer, calmer and relaxing. Use for meditation sessions ;-)
