Installs he is with me with a very simple ceiling mount, radiates an approximately 3m away 2,19m wide stand screen. All the photos leaked from the AV receiver via HDMI, which in turn was fed by BD player, DVB-C receiver and AppleTV. Projector operated in Eco mode off tone. Optical ever sense that the device is white, with white ceiling bracket and white cables hanging the middle of the room Beamer is now not quite as ugly as it would have been a black device.
A carrying case is also there, in principle you can so bring the device rather pleasant, small, light, handy, with me but he has got a permanent place.
A positive feature is the same, that it is actually quite bright when outside a sufficiently gloomy weather prevails (which conveniently over the weekend was the case here), it is not necessary to darken the room to watch TV a little. Proper viewing pleasure comes but of course not on, to the dark room then is definitely suitable where he comes up with a very decent image quality. Rainbow-effects are present if one's eyes moved rapidly, but not when fast movements occur in the image. Whether that bothers everyone has to look at itself, because this impression is very individual. Assessed coarse it is a little clearer than in my other projector (LED DLP). Speaking of TV - SD resolution of DVB-C receiver is not fun, it just looks awful from this image if it is shown unedited. I have here the upscaler of the receiver is turned on, who had made the whole thing a little more bearable.
Proper fun did come on with 3D. Here he was able to prove with Tron Legacy, Wrath of the Titans and Avatar, and he has done brilliantly. I have a 55 "LCD 3D TV and found 3D as quite nice, but the ghosting was a bit annoying. The fact can be found here not that VIDIMENSIO glasses that I have brought to function properly, the image is bright ( occurs in very bright areas at least with these glasses but a slight flicker on) and contrast (decent black level) - but is a precondition for the perfect pleasure really a pitch-black room, as surrounding light sources otherwise tarnish the 3D effect, you will of it too " detained in reality ". Optimize could certainly still with matt black walls, but also in normal living room with white walls, the 3D experience is still very impressive.
The 2D-3D conversion I looked very briefly, it has at least produced no coarse bullshit, I was pleasantly surprised by the result, but will probably 2D material rather continue watch in 2D.
But a lot of fun making this device - it has a few small drawbacks after all.
- The noise is not without. Since more expensive devices are clearly at an advantage. However, I was able to immerse themselves enough in the film that I have the fan noise but largely ignored.
- Automatic detection of the image format does not really work, at least not for DVB-C as a source. If you look, for example, the Pro7 evening program with the Simpsons, where the old episodes ever happy times still in 4: get 3, is in "Auto" setting in the commercial breaks, which in 16: not switched 9 therefore come, all things continue on 4 : hang 3, you have to switch manually here. Interestingly, it works when the signal has been processed by the AV receiver. On the other hand, the switch without using the AV receiver works on television without any problems, even my other Beamer has no problems, because the Acer definitely has a quirk. Maybe there is even a firmware update to fix that.
- When changing the video mode (and there's enough of changing the aspect ratio, if he have time to work, in the worst case so switch the TV program) starts the crate to, first seconds with the new signal to set apart and in this context all kinds of funny color combinations to play through, there already is missing almost an epilepsy warning. Incredibly annoying. Fortunately happens when you view a film here and there before the movie actually starts. It is incomprehensible to me how it can screw up a crap in a well-defined HDMI signal.
Yes, we here do not move in the high-end area, one must also look at the price - and this offered here is really top, because there despite the few minor quirks full 5 stars! A perfect device for anyone who wants to equip his home theater cost effective and may take a few small drawbacks for buying in.
