The hard disk has more space than one with such a device usually ever needed. A significant smaller but solid-state hard drive would have been to me personally rather than just as a netbook but will move much during operation and pushed around.
However, the pre-installed software is a big disappointment. The limitations of Windows 7 Starter would be to cope with, but the system is contaminated with pre-installed trial versions of various products. The pre-installed McAfee test package, for example has a noticeable negative impact on performance. For a new installation of the netbook a backup is created after startup to enable one will also not get rid of the various test software. A completely clean uninstall is hardly possible. With a normal uninstallation remain fragments on file and registry level. Uninstalled Software immersed in menu items to continue. For one of the preinstalled products is one to even register the manufacturer, complete with address information in order to uninstall the software at all. After three evenings uninstall works the feeling of having a vermurkstes system that will never achieve its optimum performance remained. I then gave up and worried a Windows7 OEM version in the shop around the corner. After complete reinstallation, including security software of my choice, the system then also ran the same noticeably faster. All drivers and tools can be downloaded easily for a new installation at Samsung. Lack detail description on the download page, an inexperienced user is however unable to judge what is really needed and what is not. My purchased Windows version has the Media Center, then here is also that something is in power as a netbook. With an external DVB-T Stick self recording and time shift is smoothly possible. To come with pre-installed 1GB not too early to the border, it, however, requires some manual optimization, which is not everyone's thing is certain. After all, it is possible to upgrade the RAM, which is not always granted. The memory upgrade requires but then again an upgrade of the Windows version in order to use them at all.
Overall I am very satisfied with the device, but the pre-installed software deserves at least one full point deduction. An average user will have to put up with a botched system, he does not put additional money for a new, clean Windows on it.
Whether other manufacturers are pre-installed in the same way, I can not judge. But that does nothing to the assessment, concise 3.5 points makes rounded. 4
