The addition of the Yamaha Bluetooth is done smoothly and really adds ease of use in addition to the already well supplied remote given the limited number of front buttons (which are the essential functional and well positioned allowing the passage that the amp does not "too full" and thus remains pleasant to see and use). Noted the absence facade Snooze buttons unlike her sister Yamaha TSXB232BL. But when alarm is operating each facade button then acts Snooze button and the power button off button. Which is not so bad as this and leaves the design of the amp as a true micro system.
This micro system Bluetooth also is programmed easily via the dedicated app (Call Store and on Google Play) "DTA Controller" allows the auto sync clock, setting alarms to several days, the control equalizer and management of sources (sources can be changed at the same time being connected to Bluetooth). Moreover to set alarms to several days (of the week), the app is the only way to do it easily.
Small regret with an app like this, is that Yamaha could have easily set up a more complex system of multi-alarm (several a day, rehearsals, etc.) while the union was the minimum: alarm for a day / single and the 7-day week but with an alarm a day.
As the speakers are not attached to the receiver can be placed conveniently. The amp is so small and few place anywhere and discreetly. It is a true micro stereo with all functions (FM / CD / USB / AUX / USB / Bluetooth), we would have liked to AM and the Ethernet network but hey there is already essential.
USB level, this Yamaha bed without problems my micro-key 32Gb completely filled (more than 150 albums) and it takes only seconds qq selecting the USB source to be operational. With my micro-key which is quite slow and this great ability, I think this Yamaha ensort fine, a nice surprise. The display of tag mp3, audio CD (for those provided) s and FM is readable and makes no mistakes. Still, the navigation in the files of a USB key will be a little tedious if many albums since done folder by folder (or album by album, ...). This is the interface that wants that. Therefore, I put the selection in random ...
This micro system exudes quality construction with nice metal cover, and therefore its weight! The volume knob is smooth and gentle handling. The volume is adjusted while precision. Very nice and adds to the build quality feel. The wide screen gives complete information on lines 2 and 3 as required brightness position allowing use in a bedroom (my case). It is just a shame that the eco mode that turns off the screen completely leaves the burden of docking station but can deactivate the use of the alarm (very regrettable and the only flaw in my opinion this Yamaha :-() The facade as already said is not too overloaded and therefore the overall chain is perfect aesthetics. Yamaha has studied and designed this chain.
Finally and most importantly the sound of this micro system is very good for my taste, and fully aligned with the other Yamaha amps I own and what Yamaha product at the moment. Yamaha quality is respected. So I am delighted.
The housings have in the back of a low hole, so do not plan to stick the speaker close to a wall. The bass is deep and also the volume max this can largely shake the media! Last small regret: the equalizer has adjustable that low / mid / high, I would have liked more, or at least via the DTA application ... Question power, being in a room, this micro system provides more than enough for my taste. In my opinion, it is not made for large volumes anyway, except those who want to have sth discreet.
In conclusion, this micro system Yamaha MCR-B142 is for me a great buy especially at the price I got it. In its price range I think that given the build quality, features offered, performance and excellent sound provided, the Yamaha is on top.
