Now, after a few years, I have my "old" wheels dug again and then just added myself this DUAL. Of course, under the premise that I wanted to spend no 1200.- Euro (madness, right?) For this, but on the appearance, the operation and a relatively good name did not renounce, even if the brand has already acquired certain. But that makes it feel.
It was a pure gut-decision because of DTJ 301 constructed in principle identical (visually recreated) is like the professional Technics turntables. Some call him a sly wink "rice bowl clone" ... love DJ ex-colleagues, call me quiet traitor. But I'm just saying: Budget, budget, budget.
I've been buying have not looked back since. I use the turntables mainly with my analog stereo and separate from the computer. It was the main decision-making that I can connect it according to the installation. Fits wonderfully.
The line-up is not a problem even for less experienced hands, as long as you stick to the not too complicated instructions. In particular, the adjustment of Tonarmgewichtes you should make carefully according to instructions.
As an accessory, and more that you need. A puck for singles, an antistatic felt mat for the platter (nice: massive aluminum, not plastic), individually adjustable, spring-loaded foot stand, pickup, all cables. Good and securely packed all was well.
The pickups I will replace as soon as possible. In my opinion, it is suitable to test whether the player works or as a substitute module for an emergency, but more and not permanently. "Grottig" I do not want just to say hi, but done differently and the pickup is the most important thing on the device. Although the plant now Klotz milled nor the groove of the plate, but I want to return my Ortofon buyers, I'm going to soon give the birthday anyway.
For home use the turntable has everything you need. Direct drive, start / stop button with fixed right start, Pitch Control, Pop-up stylus illumination, anti-skating, adjustable tonearm with arm lift.
Clear the Original Technics to Galaxy classes is better. Of that I am absolutely aware. A quality comparison would actually be unfair, but deceived because of the optics. I admit it but. Could eh each be aware that a comparison would not function. But the fact that I, a home / week times listen to it twice an old LP, the DUAL is more than adequate.
The processing is of course not absolutely intoxicating, z. B. drags the lever of Tonarmliftes a little on the chassis, but that could be due only to my specific device. When it but White and the lever pushes a kleiiiiin little to the left, it's like butter. Also, I love things that have some small (!) Flaws. Power character.
The chassis is of course made of plastic and not aluminum, which is reflected on weight felt, and also in the "Sound": If, during a drive is running, the side tapping his fingers on the chassis, then you hear the course. But honestly, who stands always and knocks on the case?
The only, roughly seen, purely visual contrast to the Technics is the lack of camber on the cover above the tonearm.
Sonically does the DUAL definitely. As I said, for home! In the club another quality truly is needed.
Of course you can digitize with this device also his record collection. A USB cable is packed with. While a CD with "Audacity" software is also there, but the extent can occur safely in the bin, or use as a coffee coaster. Digisoftware there are far better even as freeware. At the moment I do not intend to digitize my plates, which I lack the time. Therefore I can not give any info about this. I have not bought the turntable to digitize, but to listen to records.
Am satisfied and recommend the player to "normal" claims in any case.
One point deduction is available for the slight grinding of the lift lever. Something you can do better, even on devices that are more favorable. But there is only one flaw.
