The lens is a stunner. I had an older here, which showed the typical discussed in popular forums weaknesses, namely slight decrease in sharpness in the border area to diaphragm 4 and fringing at the telephoto end in hard contrast edges.

The new is indeed concerning. The fringing not 100 perfect but knackscharf, has a zoom a good bokeh and a beautiful color reproduction and therefore ... (sa title).
