The Olympus TG-860 is a robust all-round outdoor camera, handy, light and versatile. The picture quality is quite good. It is because of its zoom, which extends to the extreme wide-angle range, and more versatile than a GoPro, but I would the TG-860 not be called a real ActionCam and use because they do something bigger and thus unwieldy fails, which use for example, makes more problematic to a helmet. I myself have a GoPro Hero 4 Black with 4K resolution for such use. The TG-860 is permitted only up to a depth of 15 m. For snorkeling ranging safe, but the scuba diving you could wish for but a license to at least 30 meters water depth. As I noted in my last dive trip, the GoPro is with their approval up to 40 m depth in many divers now very popular because of its small housing and the fairly good picture quality and in use. A UW-camera with zoom and rotate display as the TG-860 would be a welcome improvement if it had since admitted to at least 30 m. Furthermore, I would wish for the UW-use a dome cover lens in front of the lens instead of the built-up flat disk so that there are no distortions on the screen at the wide angle between because of the different refractive index of water compared to air with a flat blade is the media inevitable. Such a small dome intent impaired use the camera out of the water in any way. If I am already at the wishes, a 4K resolution would also be great. But who apart from these shortcomings in yet more specific fields of application, the camera is a versatile rugged outdoor camera that delivers good picture results.
