had put on the DMR-BST700EG me recently.
a hammer member with only a tinge of disappointment.
it was not codefree.
but I have plenty of US DVDs (Region 1 Code) which did not run in this player.
but since I did not want a second code free player have next to my new favorite toy, I have researched a bit and played around and lo and behold ... my recorder is now codefree for DVDs (not Blu-Ray, this would be an (e) tag / device opening necessary)
So how does this work?
1. you need a universal remote control of "one for all" with a "DVD" button and most importantly: the famous "magic button".
I opted for this model (there at amazon) me
One For All URC 7721 Prime Line 2 Universal Remote Control
so now you go to the program's keys on the universal remote control:
Preparation:
1. Press the "DVD" button on the remote control
2. Press and hold the "Magic" button until it flashes 2x
3. press 0490, then the red light should flash 2x
Now the remote control is set to the recorder.
You can now operate the recorder via the remote control.
Now program the buttons "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0" with the following codes
1. 00191
2. 00120
3. 00065
4. 00180
5. 00143
6. 00155
7. 00122
8. 00117
9. 00129
0. 00123
the keys are programmed as follows:
1. Press and hold the "Magic" button until it flashes 2x
2. Press 994 (red light flashes 2x)
3. Press the magic button
4. Now I enter the 5-digit code for that key
5. Now press the button (1,2,3, .... 0) (whichever number key you just programmed) (red light flashes 2x)
6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each button
Now turn on the recorder. assures you that no disc is in the player
Now press on the ONE FOR ALL remote control keys 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 (exact second in this order at intervals of about 1)
the player will reboot now (it will shut itself off after)
switches the player on again and now he's codefree for DVDs
I hope I could help a few people who want their player "pimp".
give me "props" and "thumbs up" in the comments.
Oh yes, the work hack also present in DMR BST800, the DMR-BST701 and the DMR-BS750
