Well, much to say right now, I'm not naturally a fan of Canon. I would even be a tad chauvinistic when it comes to comparing their equipment with that of my favorite brand (no, not in name, it would not be worthy of a Nikoniste!) That said, I must recognize a great place when I picture a cross, and there, I must admit that I was very pleasantly surprised by the offer proposed by this compact SX700SH. First, issue building is flawless. This compact camera is built entirely of metal and excellent workmanship polycarbonates. I appreciated the little "grip" rubber which greatly improves grip and is so often missing on all other compacts. A mode selection dial on the rear panel, a little way reflex, allows access to all controls with your right thumb. To the left of the unit, you will find an amazing key "Framing Assist" for attaching a frame around a subject and then zoom in on it without risking losing sight during action. Comfortable, and he was thinking! The display is very bright and pleasant (except in direct sunlight, and will consider the case of a purchase for the holidays!). Yet his oversized sensor 16 MPXL fate of excellent quality photos, regardless of the focal length used, even in high ISO (up to 3200) with a "digital noise" reduced quite acceptable, what we recall VERY uncommon in this range of digital cameras. The image sharpness is very good, at all focal lengths, largely due to an effective stabilization system with the highest focal length and a particularly fast, responsive autofocus. Damage, however we can not always make shooting in RAW format! The user interface is intuitive and finally pleasant to use. It can give free rein to his creativity, including connecting to a smartphone, and to fully exploit all the possibilities offered by the 30x zoom (25-750mm equivalent either).
Anyway, here's a high-end compact that truly offers the qualities expected by fans demanding pictures even in Nikonistes yellow mark that may well "change color" on this occasion.
