I bought this adapter to my GoFlex Backup Plus to connect via FireWire with my Macbook Pro.

In the beginning everything is detected and data can be transferred and read. But for once and put away, there are problems. Hard disk needs to be repaired, which also works again. The second time that fails and the data can not be accessed. Other FireWire hard drives function properly. Even New formatting could not solve the problem. The support of Seagate could also come up with nothing-helping phrases.

Now I use the hard drive holding over USB 2.0. With my new laptop I will use the full speed USB 3.0.
