What had to have the device:
+ Small, lightweight, touch-controlled mobile Tablet
+ HD Ready minimum resolution (1280x720)
+ Long battery life (> 8-10 hours)
+ Good display (IPS viewing angle independently, scratch-resistant (Gorilla Glass))
+ Display of the web pages in desktop mode and smooth HD playback Flash Again
+ Multimedia Capability (DLNA, locally, streaming from the network and Internet)
+ Enough computing power for HD video
+ Should not develop heat
Be + Whisper
Make + A Netbookanschaffung superfluous
+ Expandability (keyboard (Dock), storage (with Dock via USB to 384GB possible), SW over Apps)
+ Large SW range (App Market)
+ Good look
+ Video chat function (via apps)
What had the device does not have / be:
- PC spare his (computing power, graphics, memory)
- USB port (charging
- Spare my digital camera, home theater system or stereo
To make a long story short, the device meets all my expectations and I will keep it definiv. Nevertheless, the device also has some "problems" that I do not want to withhold.
Negatives:
- Propitiatory and 80 cm for short charging cable (currently there is no spare adapter to procure, not even on the keyboard dock :-()
- Charging via USB is not possible (but can only a few tablets, because of the current hunger :-()
- Glossy display (have the problem but all current tablets !!!)
- Regular cameras (photos)
- Poor Speaker Out
- Many apps are not currently adapted to HC 3.x and do not work well, the existing supply is good but
- No free app was out of the box to be able to stream over the network content without DLNA server. For that the device had to be rooted and the shares are made available by Mount Manager.
- Free codecs for playback of HD TS video streams (H.264, DTS), paid apps I have not tested
- With an attached keyboard dock typing is sometimes very hakelig
- The default browser needs when loading Flash-heavy pages 3-4 seconds when calling pre-loaded pages.
On the basis I was only 4 out of 5 stars, but think that it currently (03.07.2011) the best device on the market (price / performance) because I already the Toshiba Folio, the Archos 10.1 and the Acer Iconia A500 was able to test.
