Image Quality:
The picture quality is Excellent, even in JPEG. I like Sony Pictures inherently "crunchy" are. Sharp, nice saturated colors and a good dynamic range, especially if you use DRO (Dynamic Range Optimizer). I let DRO actually getting to AUTO (in JPEG). If I shoot in RAW I have had very good experience with DXO, the software works beautifully with the camera and brings out the high ISO again a little more out. Recommended ISO setting (my personal opinion) can be fully up to ISO 800 using virtually without compromising. At ISO 1600 I take reluctantly JPEG but use DXO as RAW converter and the photos are still good. 3200 - 6400 well usable when it is absolutely necessary because. Also pictures at 12,800 look ok, that's not my area of use.
Speed:
By SLT technology and the hybrids AF AF working super fail, at least with SSM lenses. In older Minolta lenses with propshaft Camera is still faster than previous cameras, but you could tell a clear difference. The SAM lenses are not as fast. The same applies to foreign lenses. But with the Zeiss lenses 16-35, 24-70 and 70-200G the camera works as rats quickly and accurately, I knew yet by any camera. And yet, I remain faithful to my old motto: If possible, only the AF area in the center use.
Video quality:
One of the reasons why I ended up at Sony, is definitely the video quality. My NEX-7 has already generated fantastic videos and the A99V is easy once again what it. The AF is completely usable and well adjusted. The built-in microphone is very good, but also just the expandability through the Multi-Interface Shoe had very convincing. I am curious what will come of accessories here. 50p I like to use for slow motion effects (slow to 25p). Half speed, yet full HD. Genial. I would have wanted to make the house from a slow-motion effect in video mode, then I would not elaborate in video editing.
Features:
The variable monitor is awesome. Why does the no one else in this class? Must you always see as a professional through the viewfinder? I think not. The folding screen is super helpful when photographing children and also for macro shots.
Viewfinder:
I open to new technologies but already some concern was whether the so that goods are for every situation. In retrospect, I have to say is the electronic viewfinder in almost everything superior to optical. That may be subjective. But I could not respond as quickly, improve settings, see whether the exposure is seated, the white balance adjusts the photo after shooting has become easy to take from the eye without the viewfinder. Especially with Potraits very practical.
Conclusion:
So for me doing the camera everything they want and actually much more what I do not need. Brilliantly equipped. I'll keep the camera as long until there will be a full frame NEX, then I'm going to certainly save the Geschleppe and resell. But who knows when that will be ready. Rumors. Until then, I take pictures with the A99V. And if you give me time to difficult, the NEX-7 is as a second camera.
