In our large 20-year-old single-family house, we have no network sockets unfortunately on the top floor and had previously used a Fritz Box on the ground floor as a WLAN repeater for two Fritz boxes on the first floor. It often came to disconnections that had to be resolved in each case by absolutely annoying restart the Fritz boxes. Top two computers had been tethered, therefore we first set a 3er- Devolo favors, but then opted for AVM. The first adapter attached to a network cable in a storage room on the first floor in a socket under the light switch, the second a computer was a wall outlet involved. Plug and play no problem: connection is immediate, but unfortunately only 38 Mbits per second !! After the initial disappointment the adapter when the computer is also plugged into the socket under the light switch - and now just under 300 Mbits per second, and the stable for weeks. More was not to be expected after the previous reviews, and we are now satisfied.
Conclusion: If the sockets do not belong to the same circuit, may threaten significant losses in the transmission rate. I would rather have seen the adapter into an inconspicuous wall outlet ... Luckily we had opted for the more expensive version with socket and can continue to operate easily the vacuum cleaner.
Point deduction, there is that the adapters were previously only available in pairs: Who needs three, has currently four for sale... Interestingly, läut the WLAN connection, where the second computer is operated as before, now stable.
