The delivery of the system was then in two separate boxes. One for the loudspeaker and one for the subwoofer. The latter is 17 kg of not only extremely difficult, but also quite large. Clear I had read the dimensions, but in real life, a realization NEN big chunk. The speakers are individually packed in protective foil and are clean in a customized Styrofoam bed. A bowl is for the center also in a box attached on which the Speaker can be mounted in the horizontal. This holder also offers the possibility to the wall to be fixed. As the center but only it is (secured with rubber pads to prevent slipping), you must assess whether it seems a safe enough. For me, this option did not come to fruition, however.
Connecting the speakers via separately purchased speaker cables. The speakers themselves, have a clamping device, which cable cross-sections of 1.5 mm2 can record clean. Possibly are also slightly larger cable diameters possible, but I just had the slightly thinner at hand and the sound transmission class. In addition, one should avoid manually or turn a blind the clamping device according to the recording cable, as this may result in the clamp to unsightly dimples here, which may possibly lead to problems later. A sorting of the loudspeaker according to the individual positions is not necessary, since all five speakers are identical. Only the Devil logo on the front grille of the Center is designed for horizontal installation, while all others are designed for vertical mounting. Because these covers are interchangeable, however, one must note anything here. You can attach all of the speakers also on speaker stands or wall / ceiling fixtures by an embedded thread on the back. I took wall bracket from the accessories and the speakers with normal M4 (may have been also M5) attached screws.
The subwoofer is in contrast to the speakers connected to a mono RCA and needs alongside (as active) and electricity. At the upper front a switch, with which you can send the subwoofer to standby (but is not necessary because the subwoofer has an Auto Power Off and again wakes up when the receiver). The other switches are located exclusively on the back. Specifically, these are; off the Power switch to complete, usually switches for volume, switch for phase adjustment and a car level switch.
The sound of the system is well balanced for my ears. Outliers in color changing I've been unable to determine. The subwoofer is discreet from her appearance, as I would have suspected it, but powerful enough for him not to miss. That's with movies very pleasant for me in music but a new experience (preferably hear electronic music).
Disadvantages of the system:
Think, listen and try After much I still have to say that I can not really speak of disadvantages here. All what's coming, I would dismiss as 'whining at a high level', but in fairness, I should mention it.
- The volume control of the subwoofer has a mark on what position he is only a small notch. This would have been in my opinion maybe can color, so you can recognize them more easily.
- On the back of the subwoofer is an LED, which analogously to the front desk (which ring 'illumined' is) on red or blue light change (red = standby, blue = operation). Especially the blue light is so bright that it dazzles a little. Here one must also say that the subwoofer is centered in the room and is not hidden behind cabinets.
- I am not a fan of piano lacquer finish. All speakers and the front of the subwoofer are supplied with it. They are completely impractical to keep bad clean and absolutely scratch-resistant. Especially when subwoofer which is annoying because I will not forbid my little daughter playing in the living room and now even leave the building blocks their mark on the front.
Conclusion:
The mentioned disadvantages are no disadvantages in the proper sense. But the sound is absolutely amazing and the workmanship is top. I have to have with the speakers not had the feeling something cheap in the hand (800 g weight in 20x9x9,8 cm). And for this unbeatable fair price. I for one regret buying definitely not and I'd be a repeat offender.
