I had a problem with the printhead on a PIXMA printer 5 years old. I bought the 5 original Canon cartridges (more than 50) and it was not working. I cleaned the print heads with suitable products and it's still not working. AND barrel no longer cheap printers compatible with this type of cartridge (according to the Canon of SAV). So I lost 50 and I had to buy another printer! The print heads are also worth than a new printer. Thank you for planned obsolescence!
