Appearance:
The Roccat Lua looks really very high. And although I like rather simple design and not'm such a fan of bling-bling, I think even the pulsating blue glowing logo chic. Nothing lights on the front and the logo is hidden when you move the mouse out of hand, there is no disturbing reflections. Otherwise, the mouse looks through the matt black look as they would also like Batman used)
Installation:
Plug & Play. If you want more settings must install the drivers. The driver software is kept very clear. Here you can set the light logo of pulsing and remain lit or switched off completely. Aside from the usual mouse settings such as pointer speed, click speed, etc. can be especially also adjust DPI and polling rate here.
Practice:
For me personally all the DPI settings above 1250 dpi were too sensitive to play (and also to target button in Windows to control). I can not understand the hype for high DPI numbers. When the DPI so so high is (here up to 2000 dpi), then the mouse is responding too sensitively, so that they can no longer be precisely controlled. In many forums we hear advice like: turning the high DPI and alternate for the mouse sensitivity lower one. However, I doubt that that makes any difference to the same to select a lower DPI. So it comes but in the end it at that DPI setting is, the person like a. For me it was 1000 dpi and 1,250 dpi. Conveniently, I can in the software then tick only these two settings and so quickly switch to the hardware button between the two.
One major drawback is that the sensor also reacts when the mouse a few millimeters off the table raises (keyword: high lift-Of-Distance). Thus, the cursor always warps a bit when moving the mouse. This is much better at the Logitech RX 250.
Why I have returned the mouse:
This is mainly because I'm so used to the old Logitech RX 250, which anfühl still more specific for me. With the work and I'm playing for years now without any problems. (Or every 3 years when a button is broken, I will buy it again.) The 1000 dpi are just perfect for me. And the lower polling rate of 125 Hz has never given me problems. On the contrary, sometimes a high polling rate turns rather than a hindrance, z. B. with my favorite online browser game Funky Snooker. Here the Gescheindigkeit is calculated with reference to the polling rate, so that the ball with 1000Hz polling rate only very weakly bumping can. And by the way I have in this game most clearly noticed that the RX 250 can control much more precise. I have tried all possible settings at the Roccat Lua and always pixel-perfect destinations lasted much longer than the Logitech. (Even if I had put on the Logitech values the Roccat Lua, ie 1000 dpi and 125 Hz polling rate.)
In CS I had not quite so many problems, however. Here I was with two mice equally well (or rather average, since I was a little out of practice).
