After my move to a second hand EOS 5D I have a macro lens for full frame required and can add my voice to all the positive reviews on the EF 100mm f / 2.8L IS USM Macro unrestricted: distortion, vignetting or chromatic aberrations I can not find the images are ultra sharp and Cropping is a pleasant bokeh problem. The image stabilizer works very well at all distances, the autofocus is depending on the setting not always the fastest, but at any time fail. The lens is an absolute masterpiece and despite the price, in my view a must.
Purchase was crucial for me that the lens always provides the same outstanding image quality both in macro photography, portraits as well as shots of distant objects, so I can also confirm. Here I have taken various reviews, that this at all comparable lenses always is not the case, as they are indeed optimized for close, but falter in portraiture.
