I bought the Toshiba Ultrabook Z830 in the US, so it involves a slightly different version (Portege Z830). I write here especially, to say something about the loud noises. After I bought the Ultrabook, I was really shocked by the volume. I spent a whole night herumzugoogeln why this is and whether it is normal. When I am next morning wanted to start up the unit again, the noise grew so much that I went again to restart - or wanted to do. About the Windows Welcome screen, I could not get out. So I returned the unit and then taken still another, instead of letting me back the money. I just waited too long for this exact Ultrabook. The second Ultrabook from the beginning was much quieter and is now running very reliably for over a month. With no operating noise it is unlikely, if the case is so thin and light - which there are noise insulated? I am gegeistert of the lightness, the keyboard may (me are the sound and stop when you click importance and the lighting is very chic) and ramp up quickly, it does. Battery is OK, about 5 hours. With one keystroke you can switch to eco mode (= darker screen and faster standby), in normal mode it is rather only 2-3 hours. Unfortunately, my screen is not matte, but that may be different with the German model. After bad experiences with my previous Eee netbook I'm happy about it, to be able to turn off the touchpad when required, even if the touchpad works as comfortable that I no longer have my mouse in operation. So I'm assuming that my first Ultrabook had an error and give five stars for my present, because it is just as nice and convenient as hoped. But all those who find the noise was extremely loud, I would urgently advise, preferring to give it back! (Oh, and what else is annoying: I am at Toshiba registered, because of the guarantee, and wars every week two commercial e-mail from which if I still want to buy a notebook or little minutely Zubrhör)
