In order to improve this initial position I now looking for a new tripod. Even in an electronics market me a Slik tripod had noticed positive; After thorough internet research I came across the 'Pro 330 DX'. According to a recent Slik catalog (20.11.2010) it can be loaded up to 3 kg. To use the 330 DX with telephoto zoom lens says this catalog 'slightly unsuitable'; it was attached a heavier tripod. The first practical use after delivery of the stand showed, however: The camera with the telephoto zoom is fixed super, there is no wobbling, no comparison to the above Cullmann tripod!
Three things fall on 330 DX with the scope of delivery head SH-705 E immediately positive effect on:
1. It has only two telescopic segments (as opposed to most other stands); the construction of the photo standpoint thus goes a little faster.
2. It has taken a long handle equal to those two (for the horizontal-vertical position and the orientation to the front / rear). Appropriately, it is possible the first-mentioned handle off and screw in the latter, so that the pack size is reduced so and should fit the tripod in a standard tripod bag inside (one with ordered bag shipped Amazon unfortunately via Hermes where it has been lost, according to package tracking for the weekend ' So testing is not possible).
3. The quick release plate has a significantly larger footprint and better than that of the screw-mentioned Cullmann tripod. So already the plate sits better on the camera than is the case with Cullmann.
Conclusion: For the good DSLR hobby equipment the tripod is very suitable in any case. In a 745-gram and approximately 145 mm long telephoto zoom there are no problems. For longer 'tubes' on the camera you have to check the suitability of new. In weight, it is only slightly heavier than the Cullmann tripod. A lightweight tripod with a DSLR equipment such as the use described, will be virtually impossible 'hence the transport weight should hardly be reduced. A quality Fotoaurüstung has now times unfortunately their weight.
One star deduction is only available for the guidance that (as is now so often) requires that the purchaser of the English language is powerful 'to English, there are no alternatives at Slik, from German to mention ... A tripod is but fortunately largely self-explanatory ;-) By the way, the present me PDF catalog Slik is exclusively in English.
