The device is not much bigger than a shoebox, but quite heavy. The collection container is large enough (about how an average bin) and has a small window through which you can watch beautiful as flunk the shredded paper.
The operation is really easy. Although I've never had a paper shredder, a quick glance at the manual was enough. The safeguards (shutdown, oblique paper feed flap) are more than adequate - it would be virtually impossible to accidentally shredding fingers or other body parts.
According to the description it creates at once up to 12 pages. I can confirm that - the bundle bills was shredded jiffy. Here you do not have any existing staples removed beforehand - which are mitgeschreddert equal. For larger quantities, I would make out the brackets anyway, finally I do not have a bunch of metal in my paper waste. In addition, the device then wears out more quickly.
There is a backward button, which allows you to eliminate paper jams. I could not test, because in spite of the crowds, I've hunted through the shredder, nothing is jammed. The device is also not run hot (there for a warning light), so I could crush everything in one go.
In addition to paper, the device can also shred credit cards and CDs. Destruction needy CD I had not, but a few very old expired credit cards were cut without any problems. Unfortunately, the plastic scraps fall into the collecting container, so that they again have to pick out from the paper waste before emptying. Since you as a private person but only from time to time credit for disposal, which is not much of a problem.
Two other minor negatives should be mentioned: Firstly, the unit is very noisy and is really unpleasant noises. If you shred a few sheets, which is obviously not a problem, but with larger "paper exterminations" is about one after a certain time a bit on your nerves (the pets are already taking to their heels when the unit!). Second drawback: It stuck quite a few small scraps of paper in the "shredder mill". Part of it has spread across when removing the cap on the carpet; the rest I had herauspuhlen individually, because in the long run they would clog the unit will certainly.
Still, I'm impressed by the overall legal document shredder. The long-delayed mucking has even made a bit of fun.
Addendum 01.21.2014:
Meanwhile, I have the document shredder for almost two years. I am still satisfied with the device; so far I had no problems with it. Since I use it for private purposes, I usually have to shred only relatively small amounts. A jam I had previously only once (did but then quickly fix).
