Total refusal at "empty cartridge"

The printer says empty cartridge, then it is also empty. The unit refuses all functions of the multifunction device. Scanning, copying, printing (even in scharz / white when the color cartridge is empty) is no longer possible! Why can not scan documents into the PC? Just because a printer cartridge runs out ?!
This printer whistles and beeps the AC adapter, even if the printer is out. The problem is well known and I am fortunately not the only one. In many forums you can read it. UPDATE after about a year, I have already received the 2nd printhead warranty. The Kodak Customer Service tries very hard, delivery is free. However, it can not be denied that almost every 5 months of the printhead. Despite cleaning, Kalibrirung ect. then the printed data deficient. Partly spots between letters or are no longer recognizable letters. You can tell exactly when the printhead dies! Every time when the print head has been replaced requires the printer calibration which of course costs in the long term "expensive" ink! It remains to be seen when the second print head faded away. And yes, I use only genuine Kodak cartridges!

UPDATE after about 1.5 years. Having so exchanged some print heads to guarantee arrive already the next error. UPDATE after about 2.5 years. Even during the warranty period, I got a reconditioned printer. Express delivery / airmail ect. Shipping costs 150 euros! Fortunately the replacement for me was free.
