This morning, after power was nothing. No WiFi, no connection to the Internet. I usually try to get access to the device via the web interface. That was once again not. I have but fortunately, among other more recently W7 operating system on the computer. There, the connection from the computer to the Netgear has been marked as active. Still, I got no access via the interface.
The solution was: About the W7 connection overview you get by double clicking on the router symbol but in fact access to Netgear. But alas, what I realized? The IP address of the device was to factory settings. That's why I did not get access via the interface with the usual IP address.
OK. I now had access via the default IP. However, one look was enough in the configuration summary, to realize that all other data were to default. Of this I have on many occasions in various forums read with regard to exactly this device. So, now is the same thing happened to me.
Luckily I had an approximately 6-month-old backup which I could play without any problems. Some settings I had to still adapt because I had changed in the meantime. But all important basic settings I could thus get back without effort.
Therefore my very urgent advice to all Netgear users: make yourselves at every change in the configuration backup. That's over the WEB interface easy and it saves you a lot of trouble when times are again all the data off.
And: If your after disconnections gets no access via the interface again, then look to see if the access via 192.168.0.1 works.
Conclusion: if the unit is running, then it is a really great part - still.
