The quality of the hardware is solid in my eyes, you can unpack the thing without problems alone and up. The intelligent packaging which supports the Curve makes it, possible. Therefore, at this point nothing to complain about.
The Curve is gewöhnungsbdürftig in fact, for me but with Wouw effect and makes, in my view HD images even at a nice three-dimensional impression. After 2 days, a fall in the use itself, but certainly not on ;-).
First of all: The factory settings of the image are underground !!! It has to find their personal settings each. Since the quality of the picture also strongly depends on the respective sources, there are in my view not necessarily a panacea.
The television serves me merely as a display, so I'm here not to the tone or the tuner. I use a Marantz SR6007 AV receiver which by passes the signals from a satellite receiver VU + and a Marantz UD5007 Blu-ray player. I have connected the TV via HDMI ARC with a HDMI 2.0 cable. Then a Fire TV and Apple TV to the AV receiver is tuned. I have not used the predecessor the 3D function, so this feature will stay with me out of consideration.
I have now tested various picture settings over a period of almost 3 weeks and finally found my current personal Besteinstellungen. The individual data I no longer need this list in detail since they are listed more than once here.
But pays particular attention to the following setting options:
Backlight:
My attitude = 5, more means an increasing Clouding, with me especially in the Fire TV menu. When Apple TV there with this attitude a super black background. In the BluRay and the satellite receiver as well. So here also source dependent.
Sharpness:
My attitude = 15, more means a significant increase from artifacts in contrasting backgrounds with simultaneous rapid movements. Less so here's more ...
Motion Plus:
My attitude = Off, the picture runs smoothly and without disturbing bucking, this especially in connection with the adjustment of sharpness. But here I am not yet at the end of the tests ... I'm going to try the custom settings, to still get minimal remaining blur when news treadmills out.
Everything else is like saying greatly depending on the image source. With good HD signals (eg arteHD, ServusTV HD, ZDF Neo HD ... etc.) And the image settings is bursting at the picture detail. You can go and ran it blurs almost nothing almost to the nose. But each must be clear that even the so-called. "HD channels" only run at half the flame and the qualities of the signals are not always the same here also. So at least my experience with the satellite channels. Genuine (Full) HD on this TV is an absolute delight.
SD signals are quite good upscaled to my astonishment. For my taste, which is perfectly adequate, since I do not have to necessarily see in HD Trash TV. If you want to here more, must be chargeable as an HD + card or purchase something.
When BluRay one guessed then slowly, which detail sharpness this TV display is capable of. The Blu-ray images are extremely sharp and detailed you can see every hair individually. Good black levels, clean movements, for me a sensational color.
With genuine UHD material can rise almost purely in the image so vivid and precise detail everything is represented. About this quality need not be discussed. UHD's look at this display simply gigantic. Here the smallest retouched pimples is even visible in the face of the actor ... and not always to the delight of the person concerned ;-).
It is a pity that there is little "real" UHD-material and is not, or at least in the foreseeable future only in a slimmed-down quality. Even the available BluRays in 4K are already scaled down in order for a movie to disk takes place. It also remains to be seen whether and how quickly UHD will prevail over satellite or antenna at all, when you consider how much data must be sent over the airwaves here. I think that UHD will be receiving most cable or fiber Internet via streaming (eg Netflix). We wait and see ... Nevertheless, the 4K resolution of the display alone already makes a significant increase in image quality, even if it is "only" HD material.
Conclusion:
The TV is for the current price a grenade and provides a good introduction to the UHD world for me. After setting the correct image options, the picture is just awesome ... and here we are at the point, why do I only 4 stars for the TV forgive:
It takes time and patience to find the optimum picture settings individually. There is not enough 5 minutes. Here is as with many other devices from Samsung, a latent problem out: The default settings and the user software from Samsung are in my eyes not just user-friendly!
Who considers the and no emphasis on 3D, but gets for the current Average Price of approximately 1,300, - with this TV, the best price / performance ratio on the market offered.
In my experience, a clear buy recommendation!
