I have an ancient Jasc used in the last 10 years Software Paint Shop version for editing my digital photos (jpeg) and was so far so happy. Since I now again something 'serious' with the (amateur) would like to deal with photography, I did some searching on the current image editing software. A selection criterion was the possibility Rohbilddateien different Nikon camera models (RAW, .nef) easily read and process. Since Adobe Photoshop for professionals does not come from the price for me in question, I had to decide between the current versions of Photoshop Elements and Paint Shop Pro. The reviews of the element have put me off, so I ended up with Paint Shop Pro. When you first use I first annoyed me because I had to get used to the user interface. The progress is not just to stop - so easy and simple as before gehts halt obviously not. After the initial shock I have overcome me busy myself with the program and now come to appreciate many functionalities. After that I was able to use the core features of the photo editing (white balance, contrast, color, sharpness and detail) easily and immediately play around with the HDR functions. For processing the RAW files expedient tools are offered. For me, the program processor runs under Windows 7/32 bit on a 2 GHz dual-core with 3 GB RAM. My RAW files usually have 24 MB, because the program has been rather to crack. Some options of lights adjustment is clearly visible whether the processing is still in progress or has already been completed. One wonders that it goes no further. Occasionally, the program takes unsolicited caching before, and again you have to look closely to find out why the program increased. The annoying bit. Of course, this experience refers only to my specific computing environment. If you want to process 3-5 MB jpeg files here need probably not worry, on the other hand to the many Mega-P of current cameras werden.Ansonsten indeed used, I am fully satisfied with the core photo editing functionality. The offered links to social networking sites on the Web and the visual effects offered do not interest me, so I can not comment on that. Therefore, the difference between the X4 and X5 would probably be for me also not relevant. Conclusion: The program offers everything I expect as a hobby-photographer of a photo editing software. Before use you can not avoid a minimal training, after that the functionalities can easily einsetzen.Unter the described conditions of my hardware leads to limitations of processing capacity of the program.
