After the projector has arrived with me, I inspected first the construction and had great concerns since one has yet built a very large air vents without any dust. But on the other hand, I thought that the company Acer is hardly wrong with their experience at Beamerbau so, finally, there are quality inspections and testing phases before the product reaches the market.
When connecting the projector, however, already the first negative point. The HDMI terminal does not sit really tight. First matter ... the plug holds and the projector should not be anyway for mobile use constantly Expand / plugged in, but are permanently installed in my home theater.
When the device I was surprised by the sharpness of the displayed image. Even my old projector with 2,500 lumens and also a 720p resolution conjured me not as clear in my Rauhfasertapete. On the screen, saw the whole course then again a lot better and sharper. Clear advantage ... initial problem was hereby forget.
Then the first test movie I unfortunately had to find that you do not have good sharpness over the full diagonal more when the device compensates for the inclined position. So I just adjusted precisely to prevent the projector to this effect. If the display of the Keystone to "0", then you have namely over the entire image, a constant focus.
The brightness of the projector itself is in Eco Mode still sufficient, even in daylight. The colors are compared to an LCD projector a little wrong, but this with a test pattern and a few settings can be resolved well on the device. The menu is kept simple and uncluttered.
Previous Conclusion: Brilliant projector for a small price.
However, after about 20 hours of light I realized that inside the projector has accumulated dust. However, due to my settings within the range of the optical zoom, these dust spots were clearly visible as Coaster Large bright spots especially in dark scenes. Ok, it should remain in the 2 spots, that's still okay I thought.
After 40 hours of lamp but there were already more than 10 dust spots and that was no longer in order.
The projector has now submitted via Amazon for repair and I hope that Acer here (after a brief research on the net revealed that there is a known issue in this model) hopefully now has a Reperatursatz their sleeve, so this problem does not appear again.
If I have the projector again, I will follow a short feedback ...
