Delivery: Amazon sent this clock only within Germany. No shipping to Austria !!! This is very troublesome. I had the clock to a friend with a German address can send and this has in turn sent me further. Complicated as it gets!
Packaging: Amazon typically TipTop
Look and feel: The clock is beautiful, the housing processed very valuable, the pointer centered clean, the crown snaps clearly defined in the respective adjusting points and the leather strap is sewn clean and very comfortable to wear. The only downside: the mineral glass. While it is quite good anti-reflective and beautifully arched, but for a clock in this price range I would have expected me a sapphire crystal.
But, and here it comes: the movement ... Amazon adheres so nobly in the description back. According to the website of ZENO-WATCH BASEL-2824 should potter with 24 rubies in this clock a ETA. The manual that came with the clock, however, is that it is an ETA 2824 with 21 rubies. In fact, it is in my delivery to an alleged ETA 2836 / Cal.Ext. with 26 rubies. My research showed, however, that the ETA is 2836 factory-fitted with 25 rubies. Now I could of course delighted that my copy has a bearing stone more ... but the fact that it does not exist this movement, according to ETA, but let me doubt his origin! Added to this is that on all product photos and videos (where the clock rotates) is visible that the rotor is formed slightly curved and bears the ZENO-WATCH BASEL-emblem. In my model provided by Amazon, the rotor is simply straight and wearing no badge (see-supplied photos).
The accuracy is in my model 3 sec / 24, the power reserve after 4 days in Winder in 36 hours.
Overall, because of the described subject matter remains an unpleasant gut feeling and I think about the clock, although they like very much to send back.
EDIT on 04/03/2015:
In the meantime I have ZENO WATCH BASEL (Hr. Hoffstetter) obtain an opinion. This confirms that in the late 2014er collection this clock due to the unavailability of the ETA 2836 substitute a Selitta SW 220-1 was installed.
Special regulator - Elaboré.
Balance Nickel doré
Standard decor
Rappelled is also a Swiss watch manufacturer, who also produced for ETA for many years and now produces models whose patent protection has expired (ie the 2824, 2892 and 7750). The SW200-1 is identical to the ETA 2836-2, but when Sellita this spring is supported on both sides in Ruby, making the stone a more results (ETA 25 jewels, 26 rubies Selitta).
The Selitta is described in many watch forums as the better ETA because less wear, less friction, more effective elevator.
The Sellitas be fitted in all four quality levels with the high-quality anchor and escapement wheel, similar to those installed in the Eta only in the Ausfühungen "Top" and "Chronomètre.
So I keep my Pointer Date with the feeling of having a good Swiss watch.
However, I stand by my 3-star review because ZENO operates a misleading product policy here. After all, are found in all product information (even on the case back my clock) the information, it is an ETA 2836-2 installed. And that's nunmal not correct!
Edit on 17/04/2015:
Within less than six weeks, the power reserve of the clock has been reduced to a ridiculous 5-6 hours and also the automatic movement has ceased operations. The rotor is so stiff that the automatic winding is no longer made.
I have complained at Amazon, the clock goes back and I get an immediate replacement (very responsive service from Amazon).
Overall, my confidence in ZENO-WATCH BASEL-however evaporates completely and this clock is definitely my last ZENO! Incorrect description, wrong engraving, misrepresentation and now also defects rotor and clockwork after just 6 weeks of operation. A Shame!
Thus I reduce my rating to 1 star (actually 0)
