State of the Art

Have been a few weeks owner of this eReaders. Before that I had years ago Pocketbook, then Bookeen and finally the Sony PRS-T1 and T2.
The advancement of technology is particularly noticeable in this eReader.
The sharpness of the font, the excellent contrast and very even lighting are characteristics to which I no longer want to do without.
Because of the size of the device is slightly heavier and can not be (or has difficulties) operated with one hand. That would be but the only minus point.
The software I find mature and offers a lot of options, particularly if one takes into account the to be found on the Internet Tips and Hacks (so you can set your own dictionaries, as supplied are quite meager, your own fonts can be on the machine load, although I am very pleased with the native.)
The hyphenation is not very good, and often separates very wrong, but they are there, after all, unlike other devices, incl. Kindle. That may not matter for English books, but for the German language with its incredibly long words it is essential - both ragged and particularly justified. Why not give the programmer a little effort, is a mystery, because the hyphenation files freely available on the Internet. But this does not only affect Kobo but all manufacturers, and as already mentioned, Kobo has at least one hyphenation.

I highly recommend this device really highly recommend. Those who want smaller ETAS, should await the announced Kobo Glo HD.
