I use many years a predecessor model of this Cam (HDR-CX155) and thus turn Youtube videos. Actually I was with the old Cam also still satisfied. The only thing that bothered me a little bit there, was the fact that you could not connect external microphone to improve the sound quality.
Since the new cam is now also Sony, I had the hope that I can be at my PC all the same again. For here I am a creature of habit and difficult tu me getting to know a new system or even program. I simply do not have time and the desire to familiarize myself with the matter.
That's why I'm so happy that I really anything can act as well as with the new cam with the old!
But let's start at the beginning. The cam is slightly larger and heavier than my old camera. But it is just as great in the hand. What I now not soooo important as I turn my videos anyway via stand.
First, I had to buy a new memory card, because in this cam is a Micro SDHC card and a so I had not. I "Class 10" resorted to the 32GB. This is recommended, inter alia, in the manual. An integrated memory (like in my old cam) does not exist. The camera does so only when a memory card is inserted.
When Cam was charged (this was at about 2 - 3 hours very quickly), the card was inserted and the cam was turned, I could start right away. The "self noise" of the Cam is very minimal. I think that's great, because I find very disturbing noise. Zooms you ran in and out, you can hear nothing. Even when the autofocus cam remains silent. The image stabilizer is awesome. If you move the cam, the lens remains fixed and we see this as well. I knew previously from other cameras.
I then made a few test shots and am super excited about the picture quality. The film is crisp and even the face gets a slight "blur". Is it possible to make good use of my age :-) The Tonqualiät even without externally connected micro super tired concerning the sound! I'm excited!
When I tried to connect the test film to the PC, I had to first try around a bit, I'm like the best. In the manual I am unfortunately become not quite find it. At the Cam itself a small USB cable is integrated. But this I could not connect directly to the PC so because it is too short. When connecting to a laptop it is certainly perfect!
So I took the supplied adapter cable and lo and behold, my PC recognized the Cam and automatically installed the driver. One can an app or a program for free download, with which you can edit the movies on [...]. But since I'm (see above) a creature of habit, I first resorted to my old method.
In my case, the PC automatically opened the program "PMB", with whom I have already loaded the videos my old cam on the PC. With the help of this program I invite then then the film in my "Magix Video Deluxe" program. Also, this is of course older, but I just had the hope that I have with the new cam just can do everything just as in the old. And what should I say? It worked!
There I was able to render the film about him then when Youtube upload.
Since I wanted but then see the new program also times (the curiosity got), I installed "PlayMemories" on the above mentioned Sony page. Here PMB is automatically uninstalled. Actually, I did not want that, but then it was too late. It really is quite logical in hindsight, that can not remain both program on the PC, because the cam so directly accesses one of the programs automatically after connecting the PC.
However, since the new program is also quite easy from a handling aspect, I use this just now to get the videos of the Cam in my Magix system. Definitely all are a bit simpler, but I (as already written) technically now not sooooo'm professional, I look as not quite through.
Nevertheless, I made it through a little trial and error, to connect the cam to my wireless network, and now I can quite comfortably without cables load the video from the cam to the PC by Wi-Fi. I think it's so great that the technology has become so advanced! Even live stream I could with the action, but I have not been used.
All functions, such as "white balance, brightness, saturation" and so on of course you can manually adjust the cam. The touch screen responds very well to the fingers and you do not press firm. In the manual are also not a lot on these settings, but as with almost all technical devices to get here, of course, with "learning by doing" on.
That's exactly what I wanted: A cam with a new technique in which the handle but is just as well, as with the old Cam, so I do not have to rethink great or even to learn. For my needs, the camera is just perfect :-)
