This is my test of the Universal Harmony 700 Remote. This is the first remote I buy this kind.
The remote has a nice design, easily accessible buttons, a clear display and an ergonomic design for a comfortable grip.
It comes with preloaded batteries (bring still 3:00 if you want to preload a maximum load capacity). Loading is done using an AC adapter (included) USB cable on which the branch is (also supplied). This system is very convenient and does not require to have a computer on hand.
By cons to configure the remote control, a computer with internet access is required, this is made through the intermediary of a lgiciel to upload to the site [...]
Important Note: It is possible to preview the compatibility of its various components (TV, DVD, CD, Amplifiers, Box, game consoles ..) with the remote control that you want to acquire in order to not have surprises of hardware incompatibilities - remote. For example, this remote control can not control a WII console.
The configuration of the remote takes between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Plan to note all references to its multimedia equipment and the different connections between devices, all this you are asked to properly configure the various right devices like reading a movie, listen to radio, watch TV, listen to a CD ...
I understand only 5 devices can be registered with a TV.
After recording simple configurations (TV, VCR, DVD player and amplifier), after downloading the software under Windows XP (no IT problems here), I tested different devices and everything works smoothly.
I have not yet tested the Freebox V5 in my configurations or advanced options such as long presses of entry to select channels on 3 digits but the software is configured to return to its setting. Computer help is complete and the assistant at the remote.
I am satisfied with this remote will replace 5 remote controls (including that of my old amp that no longer work). Also via registered devices all devices will turn off after alument or what I want to do without me to take care of anything except of course charge a dvd or cd ...
