Have the unit for a few days and find the device very well. I previously had a 8,3Zoll device from another brand. Since the quality was not good at the beginning, and the display is very dark. While this has 2GB RAM. I prefer the HP Slate 8 Pro but the other device before, because it has a brighter display with 250ppi great and better illumination than the 8.3-inch Tab! The 4: 3 format, I find also very good and in spite of that the HP slightly heavier than the other device, it can still hold quite well in one hand. Although no longer, but the handling is quite ok It can in portrait mode due to the length comfortably on his stomach support (this also works the washboard abs! ;-)) And it is easy to read, because the display so a wider margin up and down has what I find as advantageous. What is also good, seems to be the battery. My first impression is that it is also very persistent! All in all it seems to be a very well-made 8Zoll tray, which is worth to buy. Ah yes, the speaker and the sound is also very good! And quickly the Tab is definitely. So far, nothing noticed negative ..... :-) If an HP or planned several updates to higher versions of Android?
Edit: 12/22/2013 Have recently tried video calling via Skype. Worked out well. The microphone of the Slate 8 Pro is really good, the sound is great and you own is also understood very well and clearly further away. Top !!! I must also mention again that the sound of the speakers is really great!
