The grip is immediate. The design, ergonomic design, the layout of the keys and make the altar comfortable experience. The finish is excellent (the equivalent joystick Logitech G27 steering wheel). The joystick remains sober: no diode as is often the case on game devices. The altar is a real plus and prevents cramps.
It has excellent support with a soft touch. It holds well on the same desktop as a forcing nuts.
The 12 buttons are customizable via the Logitech Profiler software. This allows you to set profiles according to each game and each key (macros).
The throttle control is miniature, minimalist but so convenient! I have a joystick Thrustmaster T Flight Hotas X with a separate gas control joystick and it takes a tremendous space on a desk (twice).
Compared to Hotas, it is more compact, less "plastic", the altar is more stable (on Hotas, rest, hand hand a little backwards right). The Hotas however, adjusts the resistance of the joystick via an adjustable knob (softer or harder).
And in games?
This joystick is definitely dedicated to air games. I've never been a fan of joysticks for other game types (even at the time of the Amstrad CPC 6128): it remains usable but it is not suitable:
Tom Clancy's HAWX 2: immersive, excellent comfort.
Microsoft Flight Simulator X: totally realistic and addictive even if the game is hard to handle
Grid 2: playable but very hard to manage for directions (progressive joystick movements and not direct)
Rift (and other MMOs): playable through macros but the keyboard / mouse remains indispensable.
Torchlight 2: unplayable because the game is played in the area click (mouse)
Street Fighter 2 (SNES emulator): playable with a lot of practice.
Friends left (15% of the population): access to the buttons is difficult but somehow a joystick is like a gearbox, it is handled with the right hand.
I recommend this joystick for fans of flight games that require the Logitech quality and not wishing to separate gas control (many require that it be left of a keyboard). It is robust, compact design and fully recognized under Windows and each key is customizable.
