I like the Handycam really very good, although here and there a few compromises must be made. If you are interested please read my review in detail:
---- Materials and workmanship ----
The Handycam weighs just 232 grams with battery! That's not all that difficult and initially looks a bit dodgy. One wonders what was ever infects technology inside.
The Cam is mainly composed of matt plastic. The only exception is the lens ring, which consists of brushed metal.
The Sony is handled properly. Everything can be easily operated, close all fasteners, switches and buttons are easy to reach with one hand. The wrist strap can be adjusted in size and sits thanks to a Velcro fastener firmly. In this hand strap USB adapter is incorporated to load the Cam.
Light weight does not have to be bad, so although sometimes a little cheap construction is associated. In the case of the Handycam low weight has only advantages, because you hardly notice when it is strapped to the hand.
---- ---- Operation
Charged the Sony is using the integrated USB cable and the supplied adapter. When you load a LED, which goes off when charging is completed lights.
To activate the Cam, you just have to open the rotating and tilting screen. There is a small service flap for the mini-SD card, which must be inserted on the side. This is detected immediately and without any problems. An internal memory for recording does not exist.
To take a movie, you just have to press only the record button next to the hand strap. This can be reached with your thumb very well, better said, the thumb is constant on this button. With the index finger can activate the zoom. The zoom is during recording, and if you ultimately plays the movie, not to hear.
- The push -
The zoom works flawlessly, not hakelt and runs very smoothly. In broad telephoto range of the image stabilizer has quite something to do, but in the medium and short-range obtained stable shots.
- The Image -
Sharp and colorful. The latter can be varied depending on perception. Even if one is more natural, trendy, sepia or black and white .... All this and more can be set beforehand.
- AF -
The AF works fast and smooth. Best seen our cat Theo. The coat differentiated beautiful, even when you walk or zooms.
- The projector -
The integrated projector is a big hit. The best is of course the displayed image in a darkened room on a white wall.
The sharpness can be adjusted via a small slide switch. The projector lens is outside of the swiveling display. So you can set the cam to be seated and easily change the image in the position.
The small test group, which I have presented a film, was thrilled. But the projector is an argument for the new generation of camcorders or Handycam.
Of course, there are also a few things that I would have wished otherwise, such as:
- The lens protection -
The lens protection can be activated by a slide switch. Because I would have liked an electronic controller. At least the Cam has a lens protector.
- The display -
The LCD display is sharp and clear. You have to control the menu on smaller switch on the side. I find that sometimes a little awkward. A touch screen there are only at higher models.
- The integrated USB cable is not really necessary for me. Why not invite a normal Micro-USB port?
Conclusion ---- ----
Camcorder in this form, particularly with integrated projector are just great. They make a huge large fun, are very light in weight, good to handle and take sharp, colorful videos on.
The one-hand operation is simply very good, all the controls are useful set and achieve properly. The hand that holds the cam, this also served.
I am very pleased with the Sony and recommend it with a clear conscience!
