Granted, about 60 for a headlamp are not just a little. Still, I've been buying so far not regretted.
Already in the lower of the two light levels the brightness of Silva is higher than in my old lamp. On the upper level, the light is then so bright that you do not get lost in the dark forest and recognizes the way well.
Especially nice, but I find that the lamp does not throw a bright, sharply defined round spot on the floor, but rather a "bright rectangle" in front of the carrier illuminates. Thus we also recognize what the left and right of the road - and directly in front of their feet - is going on. This broad coverage is produced by the second LED with diffuser lens.
At the comfort I have nothing to complain about. The broad band inside a "rubber band", whereby slipping on the head is virtually impossible. Through the battery compartment on the back of his head, the weight is well balanced.
The one-knob operation is straightforward. Thoughtfully I find the function of the battery level check: If you switch the lamp off by pressing and holding the button, the LED is green, yellow or red depending on battery status and can be seen after use, whether you should install new batteries for it next time.
Overall I would recommend the Silva Trail Runner II good conscience to all those who complete their runs in the dark on halfway paved paths.
