From the very different reviews I gather that under the mentioned product from different dealers different adapters are sold. On the other hand, the adapter at Amazon offered a total under the following product names:
* LogiLink Mini DisplayPort Male to HDMI Female Converter (under this name I ordered)
* Adapter Mini DisplayPort to HDMI - HDMI resolution up to 1080p
* HDGear Mini DisplayPort / HDMI Adapter (19 pin Mini DisplayPort Male to HDMI Female) 0.20 m white
* Adapter Mini DisplayPort Male to HDMI Female - Length 15cm
That has to be right so, because lets-sell! the adapter among all these product names offer the same price. Unfortunately here makes Amazon not for a unique product identification.
When you ultimately get the right adapter, you have to meet the following conditions:
1. iMac from Late 2009 or Macbook Pro from April of 2010.
2. The connected device (not the passive (!) Adapter) appears in System Preferences / Sound z. B. with * Name Panasonic TV Type HDMI * and the device must be selected for sound output. As a result, the device during each insertion is automatically activated.
3. The connected device appears in the System Preferences / Displays as an additional monitor z. B. * Panasonic TV 1280x960 usable resolution 1280x800 *.
I have yet another way of connecting adapter:
Under the product * LogiLink Mini DisplayPort Male to DVI Female * there is an adapter for DVI-D. On the one can another adapter DVI-D to HDMI (brand ZOTAC - supplied to a monitor) and also stuck here working image and sound properly.
