Before the solar lamp lights up at all, you have to look for the switch only once. The have some already described here, and in fact is not so simple, because the lower part must be turned off and opened it. It then hang even the cable, so you have to be handled with care in order.
The on / off switch should be initially set to "OFF" to charge the light with sunshine 1x, unfortunately missing here a corresponding label. Inside is a AAA battery-battery that drives the whole thing and replace if necessary can be (one of the few pluses).
Later, you have not the ability to turn on or off the air unless you want it permanently open. If the lamp is in the bed and it rains, the water runs through a small opening.
In the product photo the lower part looks like copper, in fact, the stainless steel rod, the light is, however, entirely of plastic. A notable example I do not find it and I just say once that there are nicer specimens.
