The hard drive is fast, with its USB 3 port, also appealing quietly. Only it does have a hook which brought me almost to return the hard drive back: It has no independent standby mode, the bring some other external hard drives perfectly. This I could not go as planned, use the WD Elements as video memory for my Raspberry Pi XBMC Media Server - the panel does not switch to standby ... That is, if you do not shut down the Pi (which I rarely do - is with me the Pi simply always on), the hard drive runs continuously, even when no data is transmitted. Unfortunately, this character is described nowhere, neither in the manual nor the Internet at WD, so unfortunately I mistakenly assumed that the WD Elements - as my previously used on PI small plate - automatically switches to standby mode if no data for 10 minutes be transmitted. Well, the practice showed that my assumption was wrong ... Now this hard drive running on my PC as a backup drive; Here Windows ensures that the panel goes into standby mode; for this purpose is the WG element so to use fairly decent.
