Since my old Powermac G5 provides (first series) for "optical" drives only one IDE connector available and it is now already difficult to get a PATA-burner, I have the Digitus SATA added myself to IDE adapter. Now a Plextor PX-L890SA tinkers drive with an internal rate of about 12 times in my Mac, the maximum 16x speed of the burner is however not achieved due to the IDE interface of the Mac. However, anyone who burns his DVDs with 16x heard anyway stoned, since the firing results are very questionable at these speeds. The adapter is detected easily and various burning programs rename the burner now as normal IDE burner. From me the adapter Digitus gets 5 stars.
