The notebook was adequate and well-protected, unpacking did not cause any problems. Outwardly, it makes a very good impression, the housing is made of plastic all around, what can be expected in such a price range (~ 400). Thus, one should not make any great demands on the housing. All connections are available as described. The case is very susceptible to fingerprints, as these are already very visible after several touch. But Who cares ....
Earlier, in preparation for the notebook, I have all the necessary current drivers from the Lenovo Web site on another notebook downloaded in order to be well prepared. But be careful: there exist only driver for Win8 For Energiemanegment. Therefore, I have downloaded to me the appropriate drivers for the G500, corresponding to the G700. These work perfectly on the G700.
Well, Bios on legacy support configured (necessary for WIN 7 installation), changed boot order on DVD and WIN lodged 7 CD, already it could go. FreeDos cleaned off the plate and divides the hard drive in system and data partition. The WIN 7 installation proceeded without problems, then it is still important that you install the latest drivers from the Lenovo website.
All in all, the installation of Windows 7 works very well, all the downloaded drivers from the Lenovo Web Page have works, so that no "body" in the Device Manager remains. The only trouble is preparing the touchpad, that after all imaginable tests can not be de-active (I work mainly with a mouse). Anyone who writes with 10 fingers familiar with the dilemma that the heel of your hand resting on the touchpad and so makes text entry in touchpad enabled almost impossible. Also, installation of the Synaptics Drivers brought no success. This should in the Control Panel (under the entry "Mouse") to add a rider which allows the deactivation of the touchpad with mouse plugged. This tab does not exist after the installation jdoch. All other attempts were also unsuccessful, so that probably only is possible to disable the touchpad when the appropriate manual is disconnected (unscrew the cover and loosen connector). Very, very annoying !! Or you glue the touchpad off (nice design Workaround: - (().
Luckily I caught a production series in which a Samsung display is installed. There will be series, in which a Chimei display is installed, its significance should not be so good.
The writing and symbols of all Samsung displays are shown very sharp, and the display makes a very good impression. While it is mirror what a use outside very difficult, I use it indoors to 98%. Therefore, my reflection does not matter.
The notebook is very quiet, even the DVD drive brings hardly a high noise level with them. It feels very, very cheap to. Under Windows 7, the Lenovo runs very fast ... as long as it is not trashed with software. One should, of course, make a backup, if all major drivers and programs have been installed. So you can always return to the origins, without reinstalling the OS.
Who does not want to work out with the Lenovo, no ambitions to high gaming performance or high multimedia requirements sets, use the notebook for office or rather I-net-purposes, is well advised with this notebook. However, it could trigger constraints .... keep fingerprints away ;-))
