With those described herein DDR2 RAM (be expelled by the system as Kingston constructed in 2011) is the first did not succeed, because as has been pointed out in consultation with the Customer, these bars are not just for Intel motherboard chipsets unsuitable, but also then when the CPU is of Intel. In this respect, I have already suggested, this record with also in the product description. The present description suggests to me that only the motherboard chipset may not be Intel (since are about VIA and nForce listed).
Positives: The customer service was friendly and the rescission worked. I have finally the Intel compatible Hynix DDR2 RAM purchased ... read more see my review there.
My experience with the DDR2 RAM (not Intel compatible) from the points above:
- Can not be in dual channel mode with my existing DDR2 RAM (2x1GB of GEIL) operate. But that may be on the motherboard, not the RAM.
- In single channel mode, I could run all 4 RAM (2x2GB and 2x1GB Hynix GEIL), but the system was unstable, however, had obviously to do with the incompatibility.
My conclusion - after it is difficult to estimate what DDR2 RAM might be compatible with the existing, I advise all those who want to upgrade, just replace the complete DDR2 RAM - costs a tick more, but saves time and hassle.
