Steel: The carbon steel of the knife is really good. He's tough and stable and far less sensitive to rust than one would expect. Curing is okay, and there are certainly tougher carbon steels. The difference from the stainless steel Sandvik is not very big. I feel the steel in addition to be quite brittle, fine chipping on the cutting edge are not uncommon. Clear, hard and brittle go hand in hand, but with the right alloying elements that would certainly be expanded.
Color: Caution! What here looks orange is in reality really a brightly lit neon orange. I love it!
The handle: The rubber grip of Mora is the most convenient and most ergonomic and rutschsicherste I ever held with grooooßem distance to knife handles in my hands! Absolutely brilliant and a real pleasure.
The blade is poured over a half fishing under control. There she sits actually quite firmly. For me it has not been touched, although I'm not exactly squeamish to deal with the knife. Hacking, stabbing, throwing and Batoning so far without problems. But you notice that the blade is nunmal embedded in plastic and the whole system under load has a certain elasticity, but you do not feel when handled.
Stability: I hold the knife for a total of extremely stable, for which this is a stick tang connection. I expect that my long time Mora proves good services. If one keeps in Hinterköpf that one there with the load should not exaggerate (as stepping riser when driven, for example, in a tree, or knocked back on it with a hammer) then goes so broken a favorable diameter NOT. I would leave me in a real survival situation to Mora, but knowing full well that there are certain limits and also more stable knife;)
Sheath / Holster: they are not beautiful, the sheaths of Morakniv. But they are all useful. The knife keeps it well, and the vagina keeps well on the belt and can create very easily and lose weight.
The blade: cut / shape / size:
The blade of Mora is described in the description of 3.2 mm thick and 10 cm long. Whether you like the Skandi-cut or not, is something personal. I appreciate him for his robustness, Allzweckmäßigkeit and because you can regrind so beautiful shot. However, it is always very hard to get a really rasierscharf Skandi blade and it's a huge hassle when the blade gets outbreaks, because you have to grind it out very expensive. On a grinding machine of this knife has NOTHING to look !!!
The cut is made precisely and symmetrically and the tip is needle-pointed. The back of the blade is rounded with care!! (No longer with the new model!)
only 4 stars because ....: If the Mora Companion Heavy Duty Neon F unsold here is the latest model! The latest model has a reinforced hinge and a sharpened blade back, so you can use fire steels better. The EAN is: 7391846013334
Conclusion:. For de price a truly excellent outdoor knife with a very sharp and good carbon steel blade and a wonderfully comfortable grip Surely there are better knife with significantly more "Heavy Duty", but now times not at such a price.
I recommend this knife without restrictions, with the reference, but that you can also get in the new version it elsewhere.
I do not know what that is, but in a Mora just love to be. And, although I have also expensive and good full fishing knife.
