I have installed the hard disk as a replacement for a WD Blue 1G 5400rpm internal Plate in a Sony Vaio a friend. The WD had gehimmelt it and unfortunately it was too late to save, not even with the low level WD tools. The Hitachi, incidentally, was very professional and shockproof individually packaged. The boot process of Windows 7 was after installation much faster. With a 7200rpm drive as no surprise.
