Why not 5 stars?
When Joby would not promise that the Gorillapad Focus for equipment up to 5kg weight a portable replacement for a "real" is tripod, there would be 5 star.
In fact the most powerful version of Gorillapad but not enough to really replace a tripod for professional equipment. One D800 plus 70-200 though (at least not in the normal orientation of the camera) bends not a really firm but not sitting the thing. This is due to (unavoidable) vibrations within the structure. The tripod is certainly better suited for equipment up to 2kg. In the above-mentioned combination of the mirror blow already sufficient to shake the image completely.
Sure, some unrest brings the mirror strike ever. Unusable images but thus usually not. Unlike here, because the above mentioned fragility and the ringing.
When working with remote release and mirror lock-up are still good results there. Recommended is a recording in Live View mode, since (at least in my camera) significantly less pronounced impact the mirror. A check of the focus in this mode, however, is probably not always easy at the low height of the stand.
The flexible legs are also only for lighter equipment, a useful feature. On a railing you do not want to stall so that his expensive equipment safely.
Overall still recommended when one is aware of the (limited) performance of the system.
For lightweight luggage but nevertheless rewarding for me, because it's better than no tripod and there is no real alternative, which does more for the same flexibility. But a "real" stand it replaced under any circumstances.
