Not recommended for landscape use

Use in landscape orientation

Since I keep my tablets to 99% in landscape mode with both hands and serve, it is particularly important for me that it is easy to operate even in this orientation. At first glance this seems to be possible because the speakers are well placed and there is no physical buttons, such as the Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4, has and to adapt them to the orientation in this Tablet.

However, I noticed unpleasant that the top edge of the tablet is quite poorly finished and somewhat sharp. In addition, the SD slot is exactly on the position at which rests the left palm and the tab is not completely flush with the edge and is also sharp.

This means that holding is not pleasant and the tablet on the skin scrubs when it tilts about to make a point near the middle of the screen.

In direct comparison to my Google Nexus 7 2013 I realize that you can keep this a lot more comfortable.

Speaker

Although the speaker can produce a loud sound but it is very thin and tinny compared to the Nexus 7 and classified as significantly inferior. I could arrange myself so, but a higher quality here would have been desirable.

On-screen buttons

Unfortunately, a menu button in the on-screen bar was placed instead of the usual multitasking buttons of LG. This can be in the settings, unfortunately, not change, is pointless and makes the switching between apps.

Software Bugs

Unfortunately, the latest update (4.4.2) is not bug free. So I've got huge in the Kindle app, had reproducible stuttering when I scroll through the bookshelf. This definitely seems to lie with the device, since the scrolling is completely smoothly on my Nexus 7.

Stuttering also occur in the popular game "Clash of Clans" which are established reproducibly after about 10 seconds after the game has gone very smoothly so far.

The stuttering occurred even after a factory reset and a fresh install of apps.

My conclusion: I returned the unit because of the described problems in handling in landscape format and the software bugs and use again my Nexus. 7
