in the analog days, this was a good lens. Much Wide for little money. Until the D700, the lens was still in order, since it has only 12 MP. now I have a D800 and the lens is actually no longer usable. The sensor of this camera shows unfortunately mercilessly on the weaknesses. The corners and edges have even stopped down to f11 significantly blurs on. For landscapes that is a death sentence for a lens. Too bad. But, fortunately, Nikon has well recognized the problem and modernized the lens. The AF-S 18-35 G cuts to the weak points mentioned above significantly better. So rather save money and take the newer version. Save here worthwhile unfortunately sometimes not ...
The processing is of course once again fully in order. Since there is nothing to complain about.
